However, it can soon start to lose its 'sheen' and become dirty, grubby, and possibly lose some of its colour. If the decked area is in the shade, it is often susceptible to algae and other surface growth. This is very likely to leave the decked surface very slippery and possibly dangerous when damp or wet.
